We all know that the ocarinas aren't very popular worldwide, so most of the time
I just play alone, look at videos on facebook/youtube, and read this group. What
I loved about the festival was that I could experience live all the things that
I mostly do online.
First of all, watching live performances from
professionals is amazing, listening the full potential of the ocarina and
watching so close how it's executed is priceless. But also it's amazing to watch
performances by amateur (but very skilled) players, how they transmit their
passion for the instrument. For example there was a 72 years old man that
started to play 2 years ago, and when he performed Gabriel's Oboe, I almost
cried.
Second, being able to watch and play so many different ocarinas from
different makers is incredible. In Chile (and probably in most countries) it's
not like I can go to a shop and try as many ocarinas as I want before buying
one, or maybe borrowing different ocarinas from friends to know which suits me
better. So this is a great chance to play different ocarinas and learning how
different they are in every aspect (sound, weight, ergonomics, loudness, design,
etc). Also there were some different unique instruments to try, like the
figulino or a guy that made instruments from recycled materials
And
last but not least, the thing I enjoyed the most was hanging out with people
that share the love and passion for the ocarina. Everyone was so kind and
friendly! And it was awesome that we were from so many different countries, we
even had a dinner where there were 10 of us from 6 different countries. I also
thought I was going to be the only South American, but I met 2 more (Colombia
and Perú)
I'm still very excited, I
left with my heart full of joy, and I really hope that the ocarina community
stays strong, full of friendly and supportive people.

Ich möchte einige Gedanken zu meinen Erfahrungen und Gefühlen nach dem Budrio
Festival teilen:
Wir alle wissen, dass die Ocarinas weltweit nicht sehr populär sind, also spiele
ich meistens alleine, schaue mir Videos auf Facebook / Youtube an und lese diese
Gruppe. Was ich an dem Festival so toll fand, war, dass ich all die Dinge live
erleben konnte, die ich hauptsächlich online mache.
Zuallererst ist es erstaunlich, Live-Auftritte von
Profis zu sehen, das volle Potenzial der Okarina zu hören und so nahe zu
sehen, wie es ausgeführt wird, dies ist von unschätzbarem Wert. Es ist aber auch
erstaunlich, Aufführungen von (aber sehr erfahrenen) Amateuren zu sehen, wie sie
ihre Leidenschaft für das Instrument vermitteln. Zum Beispiel gab es einen
72-jährigen Mann, der vor zwei Jahren anfing zu spielen, und als er Gabriels
Oboe spielte, da weinte ich fast.
Zweitens ist es unglaublich, so viele verschiedene
Okarinas von verschiedenen Herstellern sehen und spielen zu können. In
Chile (und wahrscheinlich in den meisten Ländern) ist es nicht so, dass ich in
ein Geschäft gehen und so viele Okarinas ausprobieren kann, wie ich möchte,
bevor ich eine kaufe, oder vielleicht verschiedene Okarinas von Freunden leihen
sollte, um herauszufinden, was mir besser passt. Dies ist eine großartige
Gelegenheit, verschiedene Okarinas zu spielen und zu lernen, wie unterschiedlich
sie in allen Bereichen sind (Klang, Gewicht, Ergonomie, Lautstärke, Design
usw.). Es gab auch einige einzigartige Instrumente, die man ausprobieren konnte,
wie der Figulino oder ein Mann, der Instrumente aus recycelten Materialien
herstellte.
Und zu guter Letzt hat es mir am meisten Spaß gemacht,
mit Leuten zusammen zu sein, die die Liebe und Leidenschaft für die Okarina
teilen. Jeder war so nett und freundlich! Und es war großartig, dass wir
aus so vielen verschiedenen Ländern waren, wir hatten sogar ein Abendessen, bei
dem wir 10 von uns aus 6 verschiedenen Ländern waren. Ich dachte auch, ich würde
der einzige Südamerikaner sein, aber ich traf zwei weitere (Kolumbien und Perú).
Ich bin immer noch sehr aufgeregt, ich bin mit meinem Herzen voller Freude
zurückgekehrt und ich hoffe wirklich, dass die Okarina-Gemeinschaft stark
bleibt, voller freundlicher und unterstützender Menschen.
Ein großer Gruß an die großartigen Leute, mit denen ich das Vergnügen hatte,
rumzuhängen.
